2 - Mother & Toddler Group

St. Mary’s Mother & Toddler Group is run by the Mothers’ Union members in the church hall on monday afternoons, between 1.30 pm and 3 pm during school term times. The cost of £1.00 per family covers tea/juice and biscuits and our costs of hiring the hall and providing the toys.

The aim is to provide a friendly, informal atmosphere where the children can play in safety and the mothers/grandmothers can chat in peace. Life as a mum, at home all the time, can be very lonely and we aim to try and help them to make friends with people who live locally.

Twice a year, in july and december, a toddler service is held in the church, followed by a tea party. The Service is a very relaxed ‘toddler friendly’ event and attendance is, of course, optional although most people find it very enjoyable.

Father Christmas always attends our december party, bringing a small gift for each child.

If you would find such a group useful I do hope you will come along and join us. Babies, as well as toddlers, are more than welcome.
